Rumors regarding Microsoft and Blu-ray quelled by Xbox 360 group product manager.
According to a Reuters report, it appears that the Microsoft Corporation has not entered into discussions with Sony regarding the possibility of a Blu-ray feature for the Xbox 360.
Following the big success of the Blu-ray player of the PlayStation 3, there have been rumors flying around that talks were taking place between Microsoft and Sony relating to a possible addition of a Blu-ray high definition DVD function for the Xbox 360. Rumor had it that a Blu-ray drive could be incorporated into a new adapted 360 model. This may perhaps sound like an attractive venture but it now sounds like that this will not be materializing.
Such rumors now seem to have been quashed by remarks made to Reuters by the group product manager for Xbox 360, Aaron Greenberg. It is reported that Aaron Greenberg stated "Xbox is not currently in talks with Sony or the Blu-ray Association to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience".
However, having already discontinued a high definition DVD add on for the Xbox 360, it appears that Microsoft will now concentrate on the Xbox Live feature. This online service allows its users to rent and access movies some of which are available in high definition.
It appears that British teachers are not alone in this struggle as there are additional countries such as Canada that are reportedly objecting to the game's presence on store shelves.
